The September Sons of St. Joseph meeting featured a presentation from Alex Schultz about what he has learned by preparing for and completing an ultra marathon trail run of 100 miles. He explained how doing hard, uncomfort-able things is good for our bodies, minds, and souls. He also explained his own failures that preceded his success and gave a number of practical tips about how to prepare for anything difficult. The October meeting will be held on Thursday, October 9. The meeting is preceded by the Divine Service at 7:00 and a Gemütlichkeit from 7:45-8:15. The meeting begins at 8:15 with prayer and the recitation of the Small Catechism. This month’s recitation will be the Apostle’s Creed. The presentation will be by Pastor Petersen on the Bible’s assertion that Thanksgiving is a theological virtue which Christian men must cultivate in themselves and their families along with ways to do so. All male heads of household or Seminary students are encouraged to attend. Contact the Church Office with any questions for this event at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana
