Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana, is blessed with a vibrant and faithful congregation that gathers regularly around God’s Word and Sacraments. But our life together is not confined to Sunday mornings in the sanctuary—we also cherish opportunities to enjoy fellowship, build friendships, and strengthen the bonds of our church family. This year’s picnic will be held at Concordia Theological Seminary, behind the gym, a beautiful outdoor setting perfect for gathering, sharing a meal, and enjoying one another’s company. Whether you’ve been a member of Redeemer for decades or you’re brand-new to our church, you’re warmly encouraged to come and be part of this special afternoon.
Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne will be providing the picnic essentials: crispy fried chicken and bottled water, along with plates, utensils, and napkins. All you need to do is bring your favorite side dish or dessert to share, plus any other beverages you’d like. From fresh salads and homemade casseroles to pies, cookies, and brownies, the variety of shared dishes always makes this meal a treat for everyone.
The picnic is about more than just food, it’s about fellowship and making memories. The seminary grounds offer a playground for the kids and plenty of open space for games and activities. Feel free to bring your own blankets, lawn chairs, and outdoor games. We’ll also have organized games for the kids, so parents can relax and enjoy visiting with friends while the little ones burn off some energy. The combination of laughter, sunshine, and community makes this event a highlight of the year for many of our members.
At Redeemer Lutheran Church, we are a congregation rooted in the historic Christian faith, centered on Christ’s saving work, and dedicated to faithfully confessing His Word. As our “What We Believe” statement affirms, we gather each week because the Lord Himself promises to meet us in His Word and Sacraments to forgive our sins and strengthen our faith.
Events like the church picnic are an extension of that fellowship. They give us a chance to grow together as brothers and sisters in Christ, to welcome new faces into our midst, and to reflect the love and unity we have in Him. As St. Paul reminds us in Galatians 6:10, “So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.”
