Gottesdienst Reception
Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne is pleased to host a special evening of fellowship, conversation, and hospitality as the Gottesdienst crowd gathers for a reception on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 6:30 until 9:00 p.m. This event coincides with the broader theological conversations happening during the CTSFW symposia week and offers a relaxed setting for pastors, church workers, students, and friends of the journal to come together. The evening will include refreshments, generously provided by Lutheran Church Extension Fund, along with light snacks. While snacks and refreshments will certainly be enjoyed, the true purpose of the evening is something deeper and more enduring: fellowship. This reception is an opportunity for the wider Gottesdienst community to meet face-to-face, renew friendships, and engage in thoughtful conversation centered on the life of the Church and her worship.
Those who attend can expect a lively and enjoyable atmosphere, with a number of editors and contributors from Gottesdienst present. Writers and pastors who regularly shape the journal’s voice will be on hand, making this a rare chance to connect personally with those who contribute to ongoing conversations about liturgy, theology, and the life of the Lutheran Church. Whether you are a long-time reader of Gottesdienst or simply curious about its work, this gathering provides a welcoming entry point. Founded to promote reverent, faithful, and historically grounded Lutheran worship, Gottesdienst has long served as a forum for discussion about the Church’s liturgical life. Its contributors address questions of doctrine, ceremony, music, and pastoral practice, always with an eye toward the Church’s confession and heritage. Hosting this reception at Redeemer reflects our congregation’s commitment to thoughtful theology, faithful worship, and Christian hospitality. BIBLICAL, LITURGICAL, LUTHERANCHURCH
We are also grateful for the support of the Lutheran Church Extension Fund, whose generosity makes this evening possible. LCEF is well known for providing mortgages and financial services that are uniquely suited to the needs of church workers, especially those whose vocational paths may not fit neatly into traditional lending models. Yet their mission extends far beyond loans and accounts. LCEF exists to serve the Church by aligning financial stewardship with faith, vocation, and service to God’s kingdom. As LCEF puts it, navigating financial decisions in a broken world can feel overwhelming, especially for those serving in ministry. Their work is rooted in an understanding of the priorities shared by church workers and congregations alike, faith, family, and service to Christ. Through financial solutions shaped by purpose and principle, LCEF seeks to support both individual households and the broader mission of the Church.
Redeemer Lutheran Church is honored to open its doors for this gathering and to welcome guests from near and far. Whether you are attending the symposia, involved in liturgical study, serving in parish ministry, or simply interested in the work of Gottesdienst, you are warmly invited. Please join us on Wednesday, January 21, from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m., for an evening of fellowship, refreshment, and conversation at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne. We look forward to welcoming you.
