Upcoming services

We will be updating the SignUpGenius this morning with services for the next week. Before we do that, there are a few pieces of information that we would like to share.

We are going to have two kinds of services that you can sign up for. There will be larger services on Saturday and Sunday, as well as continued nine-person services on Saturday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We are continuing the smaller, spoken services in the chapel for those who are more comfortable remaining in a smaller group at this time. Please don’t sign up for both.

We request that you arrive five minutes or less before your service. To ensure social distancing, we will have certain pews marked. Please only sit in those pews. We also ask that you try to stagger seating so that you are not sitting directly behind the closest people in front of you. We will continue all current precautions, and you will also see some signs reminding you of health and safety practices, as recommended by the state and the CDC.

If you have any questions about any of this please call or email the church office.

Service signups

We want to be sure that everyone who wants to come to a service each week is able to, so don’t hesitate to sign up for spots. We know and appreciate that some of you have worried about taking a spot in one of the Communion services that someone else might want, or about whether you are coming too often, but we will add more time slots as needed. If you try to sign up and there are not enough spots for your family, email the office.

Also, in answer to questions we are getting, we will share information about Holy Week and Easter when we are a little closer.

Here, again, is the link to the signup.

Responsory for Passiontide

For those of you who are following along with us at Matins, here is the responsory for Passiontide.

He was despised and rejected / by men.
A man of sorrows, and acquaint- / ed with grief.
He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

He was oppressed, and He was afflict- / êd,
Yet He opened / not His mouth.
He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

He poured out His soul / to death
And was numbered with the trans- / gres–sors.
He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

Bulletin for Judica, the Fifth Sunday in Lent

The services at 10:30 a.m. will be live streamed on both Saturday and Sunday. Both services will use the bulletin for Judica. They will have different pastors, and therefore different sermons. They will also have different organists and choirs, so tune in to both services!

For your convenience, we are also uploading the Litany since we will be using the sung version for those services.

The Congregation at Prayer will be uploaded tomorrow.

Matins 3/16-3/20/2020

If you are joining us via streaming for Matins this week, here are a couple of things that might be helpful to you.

We are doing the Responsory for Lent. This is on p. 222 in the Lutheran Service Book. The memory work we are doing is the Third Petition of The Lord’s Prayer and Hebrews 11:1.

We will also be chanting the Litany, which can be found in LSB on page 288.

Matins is Monday through Friday at 8:30.
