Redeemer Conference 2016 Videos

For about 90 participants coming and going throughout the day, the Redeemer conference was a great time to worship together, eat together, and hear two great presentations. Dr. Karl Fabrizius  presented two sessions on martyrdom in the early church and how it informs us today. Rev. Charles McClean explained the ceremony of Solemn Vespers, especially the art of using incense. (View all the videos on our Youtube channel here. A conference like this takes several people to make comfortable for the participants. We’d like to thank a few by name. Gene Wilken dedicated his whole day to video recording all three presentation sessions and the Vespers. He did this out of the goodness of his heart with his state-of-the-art equipment. He also loaded it on Youtube for us. John Maxwell, the famous Rag’n Cajun of Fort Wayne, provided a wonderful lunch. Lori Matter was the hostess for much of the day, including setting up and cleaning up after lunch. Brenda Frese was the hostess for supper and a wonderful Gemütlichkeit. She donated the taco bar with all the fixings. About 80 people enjoyed all-you-can-eat tacos/burritos/enchiladas. Our own Elders and Acolytes worked tirelessly at all the services. Pastor Petersen, Rev. Dr. Benjamin Mayes, Kantor Daniel Reuning and Pastor Frese provided the Matins, Divine Service, and Solemn Vespers. Along with Kantor Reuning, Dr. Jason Thompson provided beautiful violin music for our Divine Service. And finally, a big thank you to the entire congregation for providing the facility and Pastors. Because of the congregation, we are able to offer this conference at no cost to all participants.
