Redeemer Conference 2016

Redeemer is pleased to announce “Redeemer Conference 2016”.

On the Monday of the CTSFW Symposia series (January 18, 2016), friends and colleagues gather at Redeemer Lutheran Church for worship, theology, and comradery.

We have had about 80 people the last couple years.

Registration is free and informal! If you want to drop us a note that you’re coming, great! If you want to play it by ear and show up if whim strikes and weather allows, fabulous! The only expense we ask you to cover is a $5 free-will donation for a scrumptious lunch prepared by the Rag’n Cajun, John Maxwell.

We are pleased to announce that the Rev. Dr. Karl Fabrizious will be our Session leader. He will speak on the topic: “Early Church martyrdom: how it can inform us how to endure suffering today”.

In the afternoon, Rev. Charles McClean will present on the ceremony of Solemn Vespers. He is the author of the book The Conduct of the Service.

12:00-1:30 p.m. Lunch (approximately $5.00 per person)
1:30-2:15 p.m. Session 2
2:30-3:30 p.m. Presentation on Solemn Vespers
3:30-3:45 p.m. Explanation of Gregorian Vespers from the Brotherhood Prayer Book
4:00-4:45 p.m. Vespers
5:00-8:00 p.m. Gemütlichkeit and Supper in Undercroft (free will offering)

We hope to see all of the usual suspects again this year. We also hope others come to join the festivities. Don’t worry if you have to show up late, just come. (Even if you are committed to the other conferences happening that day, come down for Vespers and Gemuetlichkeit).
