If God is good, why is there so much evil in the world?
Why do bad things happen to good people?
Why can’t Christians and Muslims get along?
How can we know God’s will for our lives?
They couldn’t be otherwise, of course – not to questions like those above. But we can discover something of the answers. How? By applying ourselves to the study of ancient and modern wisdom. That’s what this free Christian Wisdom Class at Redeemer Lutheran Church aims to help us do.
Come join us! The class promises to be not only serious and intellectually challenging, but also inspiring and uplifting. You’ll be encouraged to ask questions of your own, too – in a friendly, non-threatening environment. Don’t worry. You won’t be required to join the church or attend services. What you do with the insights you gain from this class is entirely up to you.
Redeemer Lutheran Church offers this class free of charge as a service to the community. The church will give you free textbooks as well, including Luther’s Small Catechism with Explanations, The Spirituality of the Cross by Gene Edward Veith, and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, the first book published in C.S. Lewis’s famed Chronicles of Narnia series.
Class materials and refreshments will be provided absolutely free.

Pastor Petersen has been published in many other journals as well – both scholarly and popular – and is much in demand as a speaker and retreat leader.
